Hey all. I regret the delay in updates but this is an exciting one, and I hope you all enjoy it. Updates will be getting more frequent again.
You may also notice that the Google Play (and soon Apple App Store too) listing now shows "moss.red" as the developer of Sandbox Zombies. I have transferred ownership of Sandbox Zombies over to
my own company. The
Privacy Policy also now reflects this.

Big Changes:
- New UI for selecting what to spawn
- New UI for moving, rotating, inspecting and editing units and terrain
- Overhauled the various factions with changed names, icons, and default hostilities
- The Following are now available in the free version
- Skeletons
- Heat-seeking rocket launcher and turret
- Infectious shotgun and Infection thrower
- Metal Crate
- Lunar Panel, Blood Lunar Panel, Eclipse Panel
- All kinds of Brainworms
- The Alliance Editor
- Vampirism reworked:
- Vampires now catch fire when the sun goes down, instead of transforming
- Vampiric drain power reimplemented using projectiles, and keeps them from catching fire temporarily
- Reworked the batgun into a spirit gun which can hit ghosts
- Virtual joysticks are now toggled by a button
New Stuff:
- Free units such that there is a basic armable unit for every faction.
- Free turret types: Medium, Medium-Light, Light, Weak, and Rusty, and now Standard is renamed to Heavy and has new art
- Free terrain type: Target, which gives power for a moment after being shot
- Solar and Lunar divinity replaced with new modifiers: Ecliptic Amulet, Silvertongue, Savior
- Free weapon: Artisan Uzis
- Paid weapon: Golden AK47
- Paid modifier: Invisibility
- Paid terrain: Reset, which resets the level to its last save when powered for a second
- Setting: Dark Nights
- "Ground" setting: Bounds
- "Ground" setting now defaults to new setting "Grid"
- "Wall Style" setting
- Very rudimentary controller support for controlling units
Smaller Changes:
- Spawners no longer stop spawning if a unit is stepping on them
- When an active werewolf is possessed, the ghost's alliance now takes priority
- Renamed "Tele Log" to "Emergency Teleport"
- Lots of UI color changes
- Ninjas can no longer have the Emergency Teleport ability washed off them with water (but other units still can)
- Most healing sources now scale with the healee's max health
- Crate damage UI icons now shows percentages
- Levels can now be saved even if the only change made was to the sun or moon speed
- Increased Uzi damage
- Performance optimizations, especially around rendering terrain
- Made changes to the way humanoid units are rendered, to fix visual issues on some high pixel density screens
- Boring behind-the-scenes tech updates
- Probably more I forgot to mention, it was a big update
Breaking Changes
- Solar and Lunar divinity were both removed. If you liked them, I am sorry. I was unhappy with them, and the new Ecliptic Amulet, Silvertongue, and Savior powers are partly meant to replace them. If you feel these replacements aren't enough, I'd be happy to hear specifically what you miss.
- The Eclipse Panel terrain now generates Spirit type power, instead of Profane.
- Required Android version for the Google Play version is now Android 7, sorry
